There are two parts to developing your intel, the first is information gathering, which must be focused, so prioritise the areas where you know your knowledge is weak.  The second is analysing the information you gather to turn it in to actionable intelligence.

These are the questions you need to ask yourself:

  • What do you know?
  • What do you assume?
  • What do you think?
  • What do you need to find out?

Once, you’ve defined the intel you need you can start looking for the answers. Remember intelligence is not a luxury, it’s the first step in a developing a winning bid strategy.
